Our core expertise and experience relates to water science and the assessment and management of product quality risks across the urban water cycle (drinking water, recycled water, wastewater, stormwater, biosolids, residuals and recreational water). We also have significant hands on experience working in the water utilities sector, from the practical implementation of water risk frameworks and management systems to advising Water Utility Executives and Boards.
Examples of support provided across the catchment to customer urban water cycle include:
- product quality risk assessment and management planning
- water and environment policy and planning advice
- integrating product quality with asset, environmental and safety management
- independent assessment of treatment needs and options
- technical training and competency assessment
- technical workshop and process facilitation and stakeholder consultation
- technical process gap analysis, benchmarking and optimisation
- management system auditing and certification (refer to our scopes, below) of utilities, contractors and laboratories
- water monitoring program design and optimisation
- water asset investment prioritisation
- incident preparedness planning and scenario planning
- operational support during incident and emergency event response
We have two technical staff with our core disciplines being in water and wastewater microbiology and chemistry. Our professional experience is summarised below. Much of our work is undertaken as part of larger teams including engineers, planners, natural resources scientists, strategists, economists, social scientists, communicators and academics. We maintain close links with academic researchers, particularly University of NSW and University of Queensland. This includes being part of
Water Research Australia and providing regular training in water and recycled water management through
IWES.
